Rev. Johnny Hair

Independant Ministry

1942 ~ Present

Rev. Johnny Hair was born January 27, 1942. He received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1961 at the First Pentecostal Church in Homestead, Florida, under the ministry of C.M. Duplissy.

He was called to preach in 1963, and evangelized for eight years. He now pastors the First Apostolic church in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

During his years as an evangelist he was known as "Johnny Hair from everywhere". With his flamboyant style of walking the pews, and running the asiles as he preached, Bro. Hair was able to reach the sinner, the backslider, the luke-warm, and the consecrated with his message of hope. Audio Recordings of Johnny Hair are available in our Resource Department.

 Rev. John Steve Hancock

Independant Ministry

1941 ~ Present

Rev. Steve Hancock was born on February 2, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He worked as a garage handyman before his conversion. On March 11, 1959, he was baptized in Jesus' Name, and on May 17, 1959, he received the Holy Ghost. His home church was the Gospel Lighthouse in Vista, California. Today, Brother Hancock credits the late Elder Carl Ballestero as his pastor. On October 22, 1960, Steve and Jeannie Marshall were united in holy matrimony. Together they have three children. In 2007, after suffering from a short illness, Sister Hancock went home to be with the Lord.

 Brother Hancock began preaching in 1960, and evangelized for nine years. His first pastorate was the New Bethel Church in Jayess, Mississippi, which lasted from January, 1972, until October, 1994. His second pastorate was in Pineburr, Mississippi, at The church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He served there from July, 1995 until June, 1996. His third pastorate began in October of 1997 in McComb, Mississippi, at Calvary Apostolic Church, where he continues to pastor.  Donald E. Haymon Sr.

Apostolic Ministers Fellowship

1937 ~ Present

Reverend Donald E. Haymon was born on January 1, 1937, in Provencal, Louisiana (Natchitoches Parrish). Donald grew up in a preacher's home. His father was the last state chairman of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Jesus Christ, before it merged with the Pentecostal Church Incorporated in 1945, which resulted in the formation of the United Pentecostal Church.

In December of 1947, Donald was baptized in Jesus' Name, and received the infilling of the Holy Ghost. He began peaching in 1956 at the age of 19, and in that same year, he founded Calvary Apostolic Church in Denver, Colorado. On August 2, 1961 he was united in Holy Marimony to Janice Burton of Tulsa, Oklahoma. To this union was born five children.

As a member of the Apostolic Ministers Fellowship Inc., Elder Haymon served as a Director on the Missionary Board for 20 years (1968-1988). In 2006, Elder Haymon passed a unique milestone in his ministry by celebrating 50 years as the Establishmentarian and pastor of the Calvary Apostolic Church in Denver. His vision has constantly been on evangelism, and winning souls for Christ. Elder Haymon has spent his life and ministry preaching and defending the "Apostolic" message of holiness, baptism in Jesus' name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. Calvary Apostolic stands as an example of what this outstanding man of God represents. He has had great influence upon the "Oneness" Pentecostal movement, and has continued to be an example of integrity and godliness. The legacy of Elder Donald E. Bishop Harry L. Herman

 Pentecostal Assemblies of the World

Bishop Harry L. Herman is married to Dr. "Jerry" and on October 9, 1999 they celebrated 50 years of happiness together. He is the father of five sone. Bishop Herman has been saved for over 50 years, having received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost in July 1949. He has served in the ministry since 1955.

He was elevated to the office of Bishop in March 1989, and consecrated into the office in Louisville, Kentucky the same year. He served as Diocesan of the Minnesota, Wisconsin, Dakotas Council for 6 1/2 years. In March 1996, he was appointed the Diocesan of the Northern District Council, which is the 5th Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc. Prior to his elevation as Bishop he served as a District Elder in the NDC, and served two terms as Council Chairman of the Northern District Council.

For the last 28 years Bishop Herman has pastored Christ Temple Church in Kalamazoo, MI. where the late Bishop R.P. Paddock served for 37 1/2 years.

He was Director of the ICEA for 6 years, served as Chairman of the PAW Judiciary Committee for 6 years and has been re-appointed to serve as a member of the Judiciary Committee by Presiding Bishop Wagner.

 Rev. Joel Nathan Holmes

Independant Ministry

1949 ~ Present

Reverend Joel Holmes was born on November 22, 1949 in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to A.O. and Agnes Holmes. He was raised in a minister's home, and at the age of sixteen, he began his preaching ministry.

Joel served as an Evangelist until he was ninteen years of age, at which time, due to his father's ill health, he began his pastoral endeavor at the First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock.

On December 31, 1971 he and Janet Burr were united in holy matrimony. Two children were born to this union.

Brother Holmes is a powerful preacher of the gospel. His ministry has reached the lives of countless thousands of people. He is a pastor, and a friend to the Apostolic Jesus Name movement. Dr. Johnny James

Pentecostal Assemblies of thw World

1930 ~ Present

Dr. Johnny James was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, April 1, 1930. He is the second child born to a Methodist pastor, John Andrew James I, and Bertha Valentine James. The Rev. John Andrew James was a very serious person and an analytical thinker.

In 1931, Johnny James' mom, received the Gospel and was baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the precious Holy Ghost. Sister Bertha lived a devoted life to God, and raised Johnny and his sister Susie in an Apostolic Pentecostal environment. Sister Bertha went to sleep at 94 years of age, and left a legacy of God inspired songs. The most widely known and sung around the world is, "When I Think of the Goodness of Jesus," written in 1936.

Johnny says that his first birth made him a citizen of the United States of America, and his second birth gained him citizenship in heaven. Johnny James ismarried to Anna Juanita. They are the proud parents to nine children, eight who live on earth and one that resides in "heaven."

Johnny and Anna are also the very proud grandparents of 16 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Johnny James attended Aenon Bible college, Detroit Bible College, and bethal School of Theology. He holds two degrees, and is an adjunct professor of hermeneutics at two Bible Colleges. He has preached, lectured, debated or taught in every one of the 50 United States. His ministry has been taken abroad as well. His travel includes Canada, England, the bahamas, the Cayman Islands and Australia.

Because of his ability to quote book, chapter and verse, he has become known as "THE WALKING BIBLE." He has read the Bible over 40 times, and his object, subject, and project is "JESUS CHRIST." Rev. Tom Johnson

Apostolic Ministers Fellowship

1935 ~ Present

Reverend Tom Johnson was born on February 6, 1935 in Sprigg, West Virginia. On June 20, 1955 He married Rosa Mae Norman. Three children were born to this union. In 1960 Brother and sister Johnson were baptized in Jesus' name and received the Holy Ghost in Richmond, Indiana. Their pastor was the late Irvin L. Baxter Sr.

In 1962 Brother Johnson accepted his call to preach the Apostolic message. He received his ministerial training under the tutledge of Brother Baxter. In 1963 He felt a burden to go to Connersville, Indiana, and there He started Bethel Apostolic Church..

Elder Tom Johnson's ministry has left a profound impact on the lives of many, many people. He has a unique style of preaching. He possesses a strong determination to stand for the truth. He is an intimidating force against the power of sin. He has been a spiritual leader to young ministers, and a true friend to both pastor's and evangelists. Elder Johnson was ordained in the United Pentecostal Church International. He has also served on the General Board of Elders of the Apostolic Ministers Fellowship. He has preached numerous conferences, anniversary's, and camp-meetings throughout North America. Elder Johnson is truly, a man of God, and a great inspiration to those who know him. Bishop Jerry L. Jones

Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith

Bishop Jerry J. Jones, Sr. was born an only child to Rosalie Jones in Natchez, Mississippi. At the age of 11, he moved to Chicago and was educated in the Chicago Public School System. Upon making friends with one of the pastor's daughters, he visited the Victory Apostolic Faith Church and in 1967 was baptized in Jesus' name and received the Holy Ghost. After enlisting in the US Army, he later became a Sunday School Teacher at House of Prayer in Columbus, Georiga where he was stationed. Once back from the service, he became Sunday School Superintendent at Victory and eventually God called him to the ministry in 1980.

God's amazing plan was still in motion. In just three short years, Elder Jones was elevated to Assistant Pastor of Victory Apostolic Faith Church and in 1987, became the Pastor pf the Apostolic Assembly of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was elevated to District Elder the following year and assumed the diocese of the founding pastor, which included 65 churches in Nigeria, Africa.

In 1991, he was elevated to the Bishopric, where he received jurisdiction as 13th Episcopal Bishop of the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. And as the new millennium took shape, his new millennium ministry took off and God granted him the office of Illinois State Council Chairman in February 2000 and 2nd Assistant Presiding of the P.C.A.F. National Body on July 28, 2000. To God be the glory! God's hand was also upon Bishop Jones in the secular world. In 1977, he began his career with the city of Chicago Fire Department as a Firefighter. Less than 10 years later, after serving in a series of other positions, he was promoted to Exempt Rank and is currently serving as Assistant Fire Commissioner and the head of the newly created office of Diversity.

Bishop Jones has attended the Moody Bible Institute, Midwest Apostolic Bible College and Trinity Bible College. In 1997, he was awarded an Honarary Doctorate from the Pentecostal Bible College. He was also a recipient of the 1999 United Negro College Fund's Distinguished Leadership Award. Pastor Jones and his wife, LaVerne, have six biological children. The Jones family was highlighted in 1991 when Ebony Magazine did a 3-page, featured story on Bishop Jones. As they put it, "he's the Firefighting Bishop" who puts out fires in the natural and sets ablaze in the spirit!

Bishop John T. Leslie Jr.

Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith

John T. Leslie Jr., was born in Macon, Georiga to John Leslie, Sr. and Essie (Fields) Leslie. At the tender age of 9, John was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost under the leadership of the Church of Jesus Christ (COJC) founder, the late Pastor Lena Sears. It was at this age when he dedicated his life to the ministry of Jesus Christ. By the time John was 15 years old, he began teaching Sunday School classes. At the age of 16, he began preaching the Godpel of Jesus Christ. He held his first revival in Atlanta, Georiga at the age of 17, and at the age of 18, he received his first ministerial License from the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. (PCAF). During his college career, Elder Leslie began to evangelize across the United States.

In 1965, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Howard University. He also pursued a graduate degree in Business Management at American University, but it was at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, where he earned his Masters in Business Management. He also earned his Doctorate of Theology from the Pentecostal Bible College in Tuskegee, Alabama.

Elder John Leslie became an ordained Minister in August 1967 at the PCAF National Convention. Since that time, Bishop Leslie has served the PCAF in several capacities: including Assistant Secretary of the PCAF; Bishop of the 6th Episcopal District, Secretary of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Auditing Committee, Treasurer of the National Youth Conference, and General Secretary of the PCAF.

Bishop Leslie has been pastoring the COJC since 1980. He is married to Louise (Moore) Leslie. From this union, they are blessed with five children.

Elder Homer McMillin

Pentecostal Assemblies of the World

1939 ~ Present

Elder Homer McMillin was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on May 26, 1939 to Oliver and Bertha McMillin. He is one of twelve children with two sets of twins in his family. Homer attended Indianapolis Public Schools where he graduated from Crispus Attuks High School.

On April 6, 1958, after attending church at Jerusalem Temple with his brother Lucian (who was the first to be saved in the McMillin familty), Homer received the Holy Ghost at age 18. While attending Jerusalem Temple he met the "apple of his eye", Darlene Wiker and they were married on January 28, 1961. They are the proud parents of five children.

The McMIllin family attended attended Jerusalem Temple until 1963 and from there they became members of Grace Apostolic Church. When Bishop Morris and Sister Elizabeth Golder would travel, Elder McMillin was appointed to fill in and teach Sister Golder's Sunday School Class. When Sistewr Golder passed away, he was asked to take over the class.

Elder McMillin continued teaching and acknowledged his call to the ministry in 1968. At the request of his pastor he began to teach Bible class and his ministry took off from there. He became an ordained minister in the early 70's and during his time as a minister he has preached, witnessed, lead prayer services, been a prayer warrior, married couples, and visited the sick. When Elder McMillin was asked what his favorite part of his job as a minister was, he said it was delivery.

Elder McMillin was appointed ther assistant pastor of Grace Apostolic Church, by Bishop Larry Hunt in 2006. He has been faithful to God and family to Grace Apostolic Church and its members

Rev. Dallas Ray Mefford

Apostolic Ministers Fellowship

1933 ~ Present

Reverend Dallas Mefford was born March 21, 1933 in Pima, Arizona. At the age of ten he began attending the First Pentecostal Church in Bakersfield, California pastored by Ike Terry. On June 14, 1946 he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. On June 15, 1946 he was baptized in Jesus' name. Before Brother Mefford began preaching, he worked as a sheet metal journeyman. At the age of 24, he became the assistant to Brother Terry.

On June 20, 1953 Dallas and Ethal Stevens were united in holy matrimony. Brother Jimmy Davis officiated the cerimony. Together they have three children. August 17, 1962 proved to be a real test of faith as Brother Mefford launched a campaign to build a successful church for the cause of Christ in the city of Las Vegas, Nevada. With only one other family, services were begun in their home.

In 1964, Brother Mefford bought an old Church of Christ building. They were there for two years. In 1967, they moved to a rented building which measured 35 by 11. In 1968, they purchased two and one half acres, and built a new church. In 1976, another building was erected of which the church is presently located.

Brother Mefford is known throughout the rank-in-file of Oneness Pentecost as a prolific Bible teacher. His unique style will hold the listener spellbound. He has always stood for truth, and never ceases to defend the holiness message. Brother Mefford has traveled extensively throughout North America teaching and preaching the Apostolic message. In 1996 He retired from pastoring, and turned his church over to his son-in-law. His ministry remains in great demand today as he continues to be a blessing to the body of Christ. Rev. Paul D. Mooney

United Pentecostal Church International

Brother Paul Mooney is pastor of Calvary Tabernacle Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, and also serves as president of Indiana Bible College and of Calvary Christian Schools. He is presently serving as Assistant General Superintendent, Eastern Zone of the United Pentecostal Church International.

Paul Mooney answered the call of God and began his ministry at twenty years of age with the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ. He served as their evangelistic coordinator for North America and was one of the youngest men ever to preach the organization's International Conference.

After evangelizing three years, he accepted the pastorate of Muskegon Apostolic Tabernacle located in Muskegon, Michigan, in 1966. In twenty-two years he guided the church from thirteen baptized members to a congregation of over three hundred. For the last seven years he was in Muskegon, he served concurrently as pastor of Shelby United Pentecostal Church. In 1980, Brother Mooney founded Bread of Life radio broadcast, and he has been its speaker since its inception.

During Brother Mooney's ministry in Michigan with the United Pentecostal Church, he served twelve years on the Board of Presbyters before being elected District Secretary in 1983. He fulfilled his duties as Michigan District Secretary until called upon to step into the position of District Superintendent after the death of his beloved friend William R. Starr in 1987.  While serving on the district board he directed dozens of camp meetings for all age groups, chaired the Michigan District Educational Committee and, in conjunction with the committee, was instrumental in founding the Apostolic Institute of Development, an in-district training program.

He also served on numerous other committees advancing missions and leadership services to the ministry. In 1988, Brother Mooney resigned his Michigan pastorates and the office of District Superintendent to become pastor of Calvary Tabernacle in Indianapolis, Indiana. He previously served on the United Pentecostal Church Foreign Missions board from 1990 until 1993 and again from 2002 until 2006. He was elected to the office of District Superintendent of the Indiana District of the UPCI where he served until 2002 when he resigned the superintendent's office to devote himself to launching Calvary Tabernacle and its ministries into the next phase of its great history.

Inspite of his busy schedule, Brother Mooney continues to be in demand as a conference, camp meeting, crusade, and seminar speaker, not only in North America, but around the world. Bishop J.E. Moore

Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith

1939 ~ Present

Bishop J.E. Moore was born in Galena, Kansas, May 24, 1939. He attended the Galena Grade School and High School, graduating May 23, 1957. While in school he played the trumpet in the sc hool band, sand solos at many school and city functions. He was in track and field, lettering all four years in high and low hurdles, and long jumps. He also lettered in footbal and boxed in the Golden Gloves.

After high school Bishop Moore moved to Joliet, Illinois, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps February 1958. While in the Marines he played in the Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps, and served with the Military Police. He graduated from their Field Music School and he was honorable discharged February 26, 1961.

In April 1961 he became a member of the Apostolic Faith attending Church at 800 Princeton St. Lockport, Illinois. February 17, 1962 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Tecola Williams and to this union five children were born.

Bishop Moore has served the Christ Temple Church of 212 Richards Street, since its inception in November 1965. He has served on the Board of Big Brothers and is presently serving on the Central YMCA Board. He has served the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith as Convention manager, managing the Annual and Biannual meetings of the P.C.A.F. He is a professor and Treasurer at Midwest Apostolic Bible College of the College in Chicago, Illinois. Bishop Moore is dedicated to serving people. Bishop Moore presently serves the P.C.A.F. as Assistant Presiding Prelate.

Rev. William Coffey Parkey

United Pentecostal Church International

1931 ~ Present

Reverend W.C. Parkey was born July 29, 1931 in Paoli, Oklahoma, the 7th of 8 children born to Robert Olen Parkey and Nelle Fay Randolph. William graduated in 1949 from Paoli High School. He was baptized in Jesus' name in 1940 under the ministry of Elder Charles E. Carter. He received the infilling of the Holy Ghost in 1941. Brother Parkey is a third generation Pentecostal. His father's parents received the Holy Ghost in 1930. His mother and father received the Holy Ghost in 1934, during a tent revival conducted by the late C.P. Kilgore. The tent was set up in the middle of a pasture in "Randolph Community" close to Paoli, Oklahoma. 

William went on to graduate with a B.A. degree from Oklahoma University in Norman, Oklahoma in 1954. Afterward, he became a full-time student, and did some farm work as well. After graduating, Brother Parkey taught in Apostolic Faith School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where R.C. Wise was principle of the school.

Brother Parkey accepted his call into the ministry in 1952. In 1953 he was licensed with the United Pentecostal Church during a district conference in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was elected to serve as Secretary of the Pentecostal Conqurers in 1953. He became President of the Pentecostal Conqurers in 1955. Later he became Promotional Director for Harvestime Radio Broadcast, and served from 1963-1964.

On July 4, 1961 William Coffey Parkey became engaged to Miss Betty Lou Morgans. On September 1, 1961 they were united in Holy Matrimony. Four children was born to this union. Brother Parkey's first pastorate began in September, 1958, at "The Oneness Pentecostal Church" in Sperry, Oklahoma. He served there until December, 1963. During his pastorate in Sperry, he started a daughter work in Independence, Kansas in 1962. His second pastorate was in 1965 at the First Pentecostal Church in Kansas City, Missouri, founded by the late Winfred I. Black. He held this pastorate until August, 1974. While pastoring in Kansas City, Brother Parkey became President of Gateway Bible College in St. Louis, Missouri in 1968. He served the College until January 1, 1970. In1974, he became President once again of Gateway, and served in that position until August, 1980.

In August 1980, he moved to Popular Bluff, Missouri and began serving as pastor of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church. In 1983 a new church was built, and the name of the church was changed to Cornerstone Tabernacle. Brother Parkey has authored one book entitled, "Treasure and Truths" published in 2006. He has written 25 songs with 11 having been published. One of his most recognized songs is "Don't Let Me Forget". Brother Parkey has also written 200 poems. W.C. Parkey is a man of integrity! He has built a strong legacy over the course of his illustrious ministry, and will definately be remembered in the annuals of Apostolic church history as a man who loved truth.
